Audience Development Plan

Wicksteed Park

With fellow consultant Claire Adler, I undertook extensive audience research and stakeholder consultation to inform the production of an Audience Development Plan for Wicksteed Park, the 'home of children's play since 1921'.

 

To build up a full picture of Wicksteed Park's audience development opportunities, we conducted in-depth discussions with the Park's staff and volunteers, and with 16 individuals representing external stakeholder organisations which work or partner with the Park. Additionally, we reached over 1,300 people representing core and priority audiences through face-to-face interviews, an online survey, telephone calls, and focus groups.

 

The work culminated in an Audience Development Plan which presented audiences' attitudes and perceptions about the historic site, their motivations for visiting it, and how they might potentially support it to ensure its long-term sustainability.
